Italian outfit Inter Milan has sealed a ten-year extension to its sponsorship deal with Nike. The deal will extend the partnership between the club and the company beyond 25 years.
Though the financial terms of the new deal was not revealed, according to Italian media the deal is likely to be worth around €20 million (US$26.7 million) annually.
“The new sponsorship deal further strengthens Inter’s position as one of the world’s top clubs and confirms its desire to continue expanding globally,” read a club statement.
Nike will continue to manufacture Inter’s kit and also will receive brand exposure at San Siro.
“A key driving force will be the realization of a joint project to open specialized stores, and the rolling out of a new strategy for the development and marketing of Inter-brand merchandise. Thanks to this agreement, Inter can now look forward to a bright future on the world stage with the backing of a strong brand that ensures continuity for the project,” added the statement.
Inter started off their season with a 2-0 win against Genoa on Sunday.
