Inter Milan Win UEFA Championship League

The atmosphere was nothing short of electrifying at Madrid and rightly so it was the UEFA Championship final between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Inter Milan: Champions

It was the clash of titans as the champions from Italy and Germany met at the Santiago Bernabeu. The match was preceded by a wonderful cultural programme that bewitched every viewer however it was only an appetizer to the the main course.

The match started with both teams showing very high intensity levels and trying hard to draw the first blood. It was Inter who dominated the proceedings but Bayern were playing good counter attacking football. The match was full of some clumsy challenges in its initial stages.

Milito, who has been influential in this tournament for Inter so far, scored a superb goal in 35th minute to give Inter 1-0 advantage. Milan missed another opportunity to score just before the half time.

Till half time score was Inter Milan 1, Bayern Munich 0.

Diego Milito: The man who made it possible

Louis Van Gall had to do some talking with his players as they came out roaring and it seemed that they would make a comeback. However, under the leadership pof manager Jose Mourinho who is known for his defensive brilliance they kept Bayern at a distance.

Just a few seconds in 2nd half and Bayern Munich opens up, good move by Alintop but great save by Julio Cesar. Munich got a free kick in 62nd minute and it was a good take by Robben. However it was crowded out by the inter defense. Julio Cesar was a real life saver for Inter, some brilliant saves that denied any chance for an equalizer. This great display by Cesar was followed up by some breathtaking play by Milito. Great single handed goal in 70th minute by Milito and Inter 2-0 up. Superb dribbling.

And with the final hooter Inter Milan won the UEFA Championship League. After 45 years they are the European Champions.
