Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late equaliser for Portugal in an entertaining 1-1 draw against Holland in Faro, Portugal.
Kevin Strootman gave the visitors a much deserved lead in the first-half when he scored from a Jeremain Lens pass after 17 minutes.
Portugal dominated the second-half and had the better of the chances. Finally, they got the equaliser three minutes from time as Veloso’s corner was diverted into Ronaldo’s path by Pepe, and his Real Madrid team-mate calmly slotted home from close range.
Augsburg right-back Paul Verhaegh made his debut for a Holland team captained by Robin van Persie. The team was without Wesley Sneijder, who was overlooked for selection.
Ronaldo started up front for the home side, partnering Helder Postiga, who recently completed a move to Valencia from Real Zaragoza.
