Inter’s Managers List (2000 – Now)

Season 2000-2001: (Marcelo Lippi & Marco Tardelli)

Started with Marcelo Lippi [he was Inter's manager as well for 1999-00 season] as a manager but after UEFA Champions League elimination in the third qualifying round then losing first league game in the new season. It was inevitable to be replaced with Marco Tardelli who guide Inter to 5th place in Serie A, quarter finals in Coppa Italia and Uefa Cup.

Season 2001-2002: (Hector Cuper)

The Argentine tactician was brought in after a successful spell with Valencia guiding the Spanish club into two Champions League finals (1999-00 & 2000-01). In his first season Inter was 3rd in Serie A losing the title in the last day in the championship, last 16 in Coppa Italia, and Semi-finals in Uefa Cup.

Season 2002-2003: (Hector Cuper)

His second season wasn’t much better, 2nd place in the Italian league, eliminated by city rivals in the Champions League Semi-finals, while crashed out from the last 16 round in the Coppa Italia.

Season 2003-2004: (Hector Cuper, Corrado Verdelli, and Alberto Zaccheroni)

It was a typical Inter season regarding changing managers. Cuper was shown the door after 6 games in Italian Serie A on Oct 2003 replaced with caretaker Corrado Verdelli who coached the team for one Champions League game the was replaced with Alberto Zaccheroni for the rest of the season. Zaccheroni managed to take Inter into Champions League place finishing fourth on the table. Reached semi-finals of the Coppa Italia while crashed out of Champions League group stages and in Uefa Cup Inter reached the quarter finals only.

Season 2004-2005: (Roberto Mancini)

A stable era started for Inter by appointing Mancini for the next 4 seasons. In his first season:

• 3rd in Serie A
• Won the Coppa Italia
• Champions League quarter finals

Season 2005-2006: (Roberto Mancini)

• 3rd in Serie A but after Calciopoli scandal Juventus striped off their title and given to Inter.
• Won the Coppa Italia
• Won the Italian Super Cup
• Champions League quarter finals

Season 2006-2007: (Roberto Mancini)

• Won the Italian Serie A
• Final of Coppa Italia
• Won Italian Super Cup
• Champions League last 16 round

Season 2007-2008: (Roberto Mancini)

• Won the Italian Serie A
• Final of the Coppa Italia
• Champions League last 16 round

Season 2008-2009: (Jose Mourinho)

• Won the Italian Serie A
• Coppa Italia Semi-finals
• Won the Italian Super Cup
• Champions League last 16 round

Season 2009-2010: (Jose Mourinho)

• Won the Italian Serie A
• Won the Italian Coppa Italia
• Won the Champions League

Season 2010-2011: (Rafael Benitez & Leonardo)

After a stable six years with two managers (Mancini and Mourinho) with a lot of silverware. Inter was back to their managers merry dance. Spanish tactician Benitez failed to impress after a bright start winning the Super Cup but suffered 4 loses in 15 league games then his public outburst to Moratti after winning the Clubs World Cup. Benitez sacked before the new year and replaced with Brazilian Leonard (Ex-Milan player, manager, and director) for the rest of the season.

Season 2011-2012: (Gian Piero Gasperini, Claudio Ranieri, and Andrea Stramaccioni)

Gasperini tenure was too short only 5 games in total from late June until 20 of September. Tinker man Claudio Ranieri replaced Gasperini until 26 of March after Champions League elimination and 9 win less games in row. Young manager Andrea Stramaccioni replaced Ranieri on temporary basis, but he impressed during the 11 games he coached Inter and being promoted as a full time manager for next season.
