Tehran, Aug 11 (IANS) Iran’s national football has been ranked the third highest Asian team in the latest FIFA rankings released Sunday.
Iran stands on 52 with 601 points and moved up a place in Asia after South Korea moved down a place to fourth among the Asian teams, reports Xinhua.
Iran qualified for the 2014 World Cup after beating South Korea 1-0 in Ulsan in June.
The top 12 of the world rankings remain unchanged, with Spain leading the way ahead of Germany, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands. Brazil holds the ninth spot.
