According to the Daily Mail, Neymar told PSG just hours before their defeat in the UCL to Real Madrid that he wanted a return to Catalonia. The reporter believed that Neymar cited the lack of quality in Ligue 1 as the main reason. He also admitted missing his former teammates and life back in Spain. Leo Messi also stated that it will be awful if he joins Madrid and sources close to him have many times proclaimed his love for the club and the city in general. The biggest hurdle here would be both the cost of the move. Barcelona have already spent close to €220 million on Coutinho and Dembele and are also leading the race to land Antoine Griezzman from Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman would be relatively cheaper and Barca also need to land a replacement for Andres Iniesta. Neymar was sent a legal notice when he and his father were charged by the club for violating the loyalty clause in his contract. The club also refused to pay his loyalty bonus and Neymar allegedly urged UEFA to take action against his former club. Its this fragile relationship with the board that makes this fairytale move close to impossible.
