Isco and James have not had the best of campaigns for Real Madrid this season

The talented duo of Isco and James have not been firing on all cylinders for Real Madrid and many fans, critics and pundits have blamed their poor form for being the cause of Real Madrid’s woes this season. Reports have also emerged linking both James and Isco with moves away from Real Madrid.

However, Isco feels that the criticism directed towards James and him is unfair. Real Madrid take on Barcelona on Saturday night with Madrid 10 points behind their great rivals.

Isco speaking to Cadena Cope said that they were not the only ones to blame for Real Madrid’s mediocre season so far.

"It's been a very difficult season but I do not think everything that happens to Real Madrid is the fault of James and me," he said.

Isco also spoke about the angry reaction he gave to being substituted in the game against Las Palmas.

"After the game against Las Palmas I was angry with myself and I do not think I'm the first player to have done that," he added.

Zidane says Real Madrid ready for ‘special’ Clasico against Barcelona

Madrid's first game after the international break is against La Liga leaders Barcelona at Camp Nou on April 2 and Zidane is full of confidence ahead of that showdown given the standard of their display in their last La Liga game against Sevilla where they secured a comprehensive 4-0 victory.

"I'm very happy with the game. We've had one of the best weeks in terms of training. This is the fruit of the players' labour. We played one of the best games since I've been here," he said.

"Every game is different, I'm counting on every player until the end. Everyone is important.

"We can do great things playing like this and the players know that, but in football every game is different.

"Clasicos are always special. We have to keep improving and it was important to head into it with a victory. We're ready, it'll be a great game."
