In what might be the best move of the summer from an ISL side, Florent Malouda seems to be heading back to the Delhi Dynamos. The former Champions League winner was immense in his first season at the ISL, providing a total of eight assists during the season, propelling the Dynamos to their first semi-final in the tournament.

The move is set to be formally announced ahead of the West Brom's game against Middlesbrough in the English Premier League. Florent is expected to join up the squad of the Dynamos who are currently training in England ahead of their pre-season game against West Brom during the international break (on September 3 to be precise).

It still hasn't been confirmed whether Delhi will declare Malouda as their marquee player, but it is widely expected to happen. Delhi Dynamos have still got one of the most under-cooked sides with Doblas, Pelissari, Lewis and Periera the only overseas players to have been confirmed by the management.
Given there is only a month or so to go ahead of the ISL 3 season, manager Gianluca Zambrotta will look to get as many bodies in, as soon as possible, so they are integrated into the squad. Especially, with sides like Atletico de Kolkata already concluding their transfer business. Well, at least signing of Florent Malouda is a step in the right direction.
The form of Malouda himself won't be a huge worry for Zambrotta as he has been a regular for Wadi Degla SC, in the Egyptian Premier League. If he tends to have anywhere near the impact he did in his first season, Zambrotta will be a happy man, and so will be the Delhi Dynamos. The likes of Souvik Chakraborty, Milan Singh and Kean Lewis can learn a lot from the World Cup finalist.
