What's the story?
Spanish footballer Edu Garcia might be the heart-throb of Bengaluru FC fans but his wife Adriana is not far behind as she is doing a noble job, away from the limelight. Adriana has taken up the role of a volunteer and she travels to a Government school, everyday, to provide education to the children.
In case you didn't know...
Garcia, who signed for Bengaluru FC at the start of ISL 2017/18, became an instant fan favourite owing to his impressive performances for the club. The Spaniard has scored two goals and provided five assists in the 14 games he has featured for the club.
He is a product of Spanish club Real Zaragoza and this is the first time that the winger is playing professional football outside Spain.
The heart of the matter
Adriana was always excited to come to India along with Edu to experience the vivid culture of the country. Being attached to a Spanish non-profit organisation, which is looking after the basic necessities of children, gave Adriana the opportunity to play this noble role.
Adriana travels to Kanganahalli, a village one hour away from Bengaluru to impart education to the children of that locality. She said that the primary objective of the NGO with which she is attached is to look after the fact that the children get proper facilities - food, clothes and education.
Adriana sums up the whole experience as a learning curve for her as she gets to know a lot of things while teaching the kids.
What's next?
As long as Garcia is in the country, Adriana will be travelling to the village to impart education to the children.
Author's take
The job which Adriana is doing should be rated highly as she is providing her services voluntarily and helping out the underprivileged children of the country.
