What’s the story?
Kerala Blaster’s striker Iain Hume is known to be someone who is always ready for a dose of fun and games. He never misses an opportunity to partake in playful activities that happen within the team.
Hume's latest off-field exploit was to completely trim the beard of Kerala Blasters’ team manager, Antony Thomas who had challenged him to score a hat-trick.
In case you didn’t know...
Hume broke his goal drought during Kerala Blasters’ last ISL game against Delhi Dynamos. The highest goal scorer in the history of the league scored a swift hat-trick to help his team post a 3-1 win over the struggling Dynamos.
Hume suffered a face injury during the game but like a true warrior he played on with a bandaged face and helped his team take home all three points.
The heart of the matter
Hume’s teammate, CK Vineeth revealed what was going on behind the scenes as he tweeted an image in which the team manager is present along with Hume, Rino Anto and himself.
He mentioned in the tweet that Hume trimmed Thomas’ beard because the latter had said before the Delhi game that the Canadian could take his beard off if he manages to score a hat-trick.
Hume certainly wasn’t going to miss this golden opportunity as he decided to showcase his skills with the trimmer to embarrass his team’s manager.
What’s next?
The Blasters have brought their campaign back on track but there’s still a lot to do. They are currently placed 6th in the table and need to string together a few back to back wins to break into the top 4.
Author’s take
These acts always help a team to stay in high spirits and Hume must be credited for the fact that he always tries to bring a smile on the faces of his teammates.
