5. Balwant hits the winning goal

Thiago Santos had given Mumbai a 3-2 lead after Balwant Singh's shot ricocheted off Kattimani onto his path. Goa, despite being a man down kept pushing for the equaliser with their potent attacking threat. Ahmed Jahouh ran through the middle and found Coro who chipped the ball skillfully over Amrinder to make it 3-3 on the night.

The Gaurs' joy was shortlived as Balwant Singh scored just four minutes before the full time to put Mumbai City FC back in the lead. Thiago Santos' shot was blocked by Kattimani and the save rebounded to Mandar Rao Desai. Desai was unable to clear the ball and Balwant Singh dived forward to send it into the net.

Mumbai City FC won 4-3 in the end as they jumped from the seventh spot to fifth in the standings with 17 points from their twelve matches. FC Goa stay in the fourth spot with 19 points from their eleven matches.
