#2 This deserved two red cards
We've touched upon before on how Marcelinho has a nasty side to his game. In Pune City's previous game, he had a nasty tackle on Subhasish Bose that was not spotted.
Today, with his side already 4-0 down, he went in for a two-footed, disgraceful stamp on Pronay Halder. This time it was seen and he was given a yellow, his second of the game, which saw him sent off.
This was a straight red though. It was so bad that it deserved two red cards. The referees really must clamp down on Marcelinho for these tackles. Both today's challenge on Halder and last week's on Bose were potentially career-ending challenges. If ever there was a case for retrospective punishment, this was it.
Ranko Popovic has been naming Marcelinho captain which feels undeserved. He is not a good leader, loses the plot when things don't go his way and fails to galvanize his side when they are down. He will miss Pune's last match of the season away to Delhi Dynamos.
