Kerala Blasters manager David James took a dig at the ISL authorities for a clogged fixture list, ahead of their home game against the high-flying FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, on Sunday.
James was not too happy with the fixtures list dished out to the Blasters, who are set to play their fourth game in 11 days.
"The games are coming thick and fast, and this is the toughest phase in ISL for us. I think every team has to face this phase in any point of the season," said James. "We are doing our best to give our hundred percent in every game."
Three of these four games were away from home and James took a dig by saying at the organising authorities, saying, "I enjoyed a trip to India in such a short while".
James had brought up the issue of the fixture scheduling earlier as well, after their match against Jamshedpur FC, which was a closely fought affair that the Men of Steel won in the end. At that point, the former Liverpool custodian had claimed that his side was one of the fittest in the league.
However, a number of players had sustained injuries in the Jamshedpur game, and the team management will be anxiously looking at the doctor to give a go-ahead. Despite the fact that a number of their players are doubtful for the game, James believes that his side can take on the mighty Gaurs.
"Goa are one of the best team in the league. We are playing against a good side tomorrow, but we are not afraid to face them," said James.
Kerala have now played four under James, out of which they have won two, drawn one, and lost one. They will be looking to get more points under their belt and make it to the top four this season.
