Len Doungel

Len is no stranger to the ISL and the big leagues. Having started his career at East Bengal, he was thought to be the next Bhaichung Bhutia by some of the club faithful. A move to Bengaluru FC saw him add another dimension to his game as he got fitter and started playing as a winger too. This 23-year-old Manipuri striker is highly-rated by ex-East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan and also former AIFF Technical Director Scott O'Donnell.

Know for his lightning quick speed and dribbling abilities, Len is a lethal striker and is very good in the air too. Having played at some big clubs and in big tournaments, Len would surely like to use his experience in what is like a homecoming season for him, as he played the first season of ISL for NEUFC and also scored his first ISL goal for them too. With six Indian players required in the starting lineup, expect Len to be one of the starters for NEUFC regularly.

Special Mention - Abdul Hakku (North East United FC)

Do look out for this tall lanky defender from Kerala, as he has been impressive for NEUFC during the preseason and is expected to be a first team regular this season. Rated very highly by coaches and teammates, this DSK academy graduate started making his mark for Fateh Hyderabad FC in the I-League 2nd division.
