Paulo Machodo helped the home side create no chances in the first half. Mumbai City FC opened the second half with a brilliant team move which had the Portuguese midfielder at the end but he was wasteful as his shot was deflected wide.

He provided another cross five minutes later aiming at Arnold Issoko but it found the hands of Arindam Bhattacharya comfortably.
