#2 Albert Roca
Frank Rijkaard’s old apprentice is a free agent since leaving Bengaluru FC. The Spaniard Albert Roca worked at FC Barcelona for five seasons before following Rijkaard to Turkish club Galatasaray (2009-2010) and then the Saudi Arabian national team (2011-2013). He also briefly managed the the El Salvador national team.
However, his remarkable success at Bengaluru FC, and his crafting of an entertaining side that won regularly made him a hot managerial property in the Indian football circuit.
Arguably one with ambition, we may not have seen the last of Albert Roca in the Indian Super League yet. A good offer from Chennaiyin FC could do the trick.
#3 Ranko Popovic
The Serbian won plenty of admirers during his time in the Indian Super League after leading Pune City FC to a first ever play-off spot in the 2017-18 season.
Ranko Popovic left once his contract with Pune City expired at the end of the season but expressed his desire to return to India in the future if the right opportunity came calling.
"Yes, I feel I will come back to India at some point of time in the future. I loved working there.”
His most recent job was with SKN St.Polten in the Austrian Bundesliga, which he left in July 2019.
Before his successful stint in the Indian Super League, Ranko had a fruitful time at Cerezo Osaka in the J-League. Later at Buriram United FC in Thailand, he won the Thai League Cup and Mekong Club Championship. In the 2014-15 season, he led Segunda Division club Real Zaragoza to finals of the La Liga playoffs.
Having seen the impact at various clubs across the globe, Ranko could be a great choice for a club seeking resurgence.
