Pune, Aug 30 (IANS) Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Pune City on Tuesday announced the signing of Argentine midfielder Gustavo Oberman for the forthcoming third edition of the football tournament.
On his first ever stint in India, Gustavo said. "I have heard great things about the country and the football fans here. I hope to see all of that during my stint with FC Pune City and make an indelible impression on the fans, especially the Orange Army."
Gustavo was a part of the Argentina Under-20 team that won the World Cup in 2005. Nicknamed Cachete, Gustavo's professional football career began at Argentino Juniors in 2003. He then went on to play for River Plat, CD Castellon, CFR Cluj, Cordoba CF among other clubs.
FC Pune's head coach Antonio Habas said, "Gustavo is a player who we feel is right suited to the style of football which we at FC Pune City would like to play this season, i.e. attacking brand.
"He has a knack of making chances from unexpected positions and I am sure that's going to be an asset to the team."
