World Cup winner Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero on Monday asserted that what the Indian Super League (ISL) has done for the country was "incredible".
"Its incredible what ISL has achieved in such short time," Del Piero told media persons here.
He suggested ISL proceed step by step but said he was awed by the response the tournament generated in its maiden edition.
"We have to proceed step by step, this is the first time and everyone should be proud at what they were able to achieve."
Del Piero also stressed that the league needed to reach out globally in turn highlighting Indian football. He also believed that the games and the crowd were brilliant.
"ISL has been telecast globally, the game, the crowd all have been great," said the 40-year-old who was present as an expert for Sunday's match after Delhi Dynamos (the team he was playing for) crashed out of the ISL after the round robin encounters.
