In 2017, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his superstition before big games. The legendary Portuguese striker said that he didn't touch a trophy he was looking to win while getting on the pitch to play a final.
While partaking in the Confederation Cup that year with Portugal, he opened up about his superstition with a FIFA representative (via Mirror) in March 2017:
"I never touch the trophies, never. It brings you bad luck."
That came after he had led Portugal to Euro 2016 glory. However, the Selecao were unable to secure a consecutive trophy, as they lost on penalties to Chile in the semi-final to finish thrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo has won numerous trophies in his career since 2002 when he won the Supertaca Candido de Oliveira with Sporting CP. At Manchester United, he won the Premier League three times, among other trophies, while he won the UEFA Champions League four times at Real Madrid.
He moved to Juventus, where he won Serie A twice, and he has also picked up the Arab Club Champions Cup (a friendly tournament) with Al-Nassr. Across his career, the legendary striker has won an impressive 33 senior trophies.
It's worth noting, though, that he touched the 2024 Saudi Super Cup trophy ahead of Al-Nassr's clash in the competition with Al-Hilal (via football.newz on Instagram). This didn't bring good tidings for Ronaldo, as Al-Nassr lost 4-1, despite the 39-year-old opening the scoring.
Cristiano Ronaldo storms off without collecting silver medal after losing Saudi Super Cup final

After Al-Hilal secured the Saudi Super Cup, Al-Nassr players were given silver medals . However, Cristiano Ronaldo was nowhere to be found, as he had stormed off the pitch without collecting his medal (via Daily Mail).
He remains Al-Nassr's best player, though, having racked up an impressive 66 goals in 72 games across competitions. He also broke the Saudi Pro League goalscoring record last season, scoring 35 goals in 31 games.
