ROME (AFP) –
Policed searched the room of Italy defender Domenico Criscito at the national team’s Euro 2012 training camp near Florence early Monday over the so-called Calcioscommesse sports betting scandal.
He was one of 19 people targeted by police in a new blitz by the public prosecutor in Cremona, where the original Calciosccommesse scandal broke almost a year ago.
Ten current and ex-players are amongst those implicated, including Juventus coach Antonio Conte, while Lazio captain Stefano Mauri has been arrested, according to the Ansa news agency.
