Ajax goalkeeper, Jasper Cillessen, has confirmed using Instagram and Twitter that he's joined FC Barcelona on a permanent basis. The Dutchman's move to the Camp Nou triggers a chain of goalkeeper movements across Europe which immediately sees Claudio Bravo leave for the Premier League.
The 27-year-old leaves Ajax after spending five years with the club taking him all the way to being the number one choice in the Dutch national team. Cillessen tweeted of his move on social media saying 'Dreams come true' but has deleted said tweet.
The Catalan club are yet to confirm the move and will push the final pieces of paperwork that sees Bravo join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The Chilean keeper is rumoured to be joining the English giants for a fee of £17 million replacing long-standing veteran Joe Hart – whose future is still unclear.
Hart has been with City for the past ten years and is being phased out of the club by manager Pep Guardiola mainly because of his inability to be the kind of 'sweeper keeper' the Spaniard likes to employ in his gameplan.
Hart played what was possibly his final game at the club last night in the second-leg of his UEFA Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucuresti and had the vocal support of his fans who cheered his every kick and every attempt. He was also given the armband.
"That was a really special night for me," Hart said.
"We all know there is a situation going on. This is a special place for me, I’ve made no secret of that.
"Situations occur in football. We are men and we get on with it.
"We have got a top manager and he is going to have his opinion on things. Tonight I played and enjoyed every moment of it. The situation is what it is," he concluded.
