When Sky Sports asked Carlos Vela about his Mexican team mate Javier Hernandez, he said that if Chicharito does not get nough playing time, he would have to leave Manchester United.
Vela had suffered a similar fate when he played for Arsenal. Even though he had the quality, he could never break into the starting eleven on a consistent basis, scoring just 11 goals in 62 games for the Gunner. But now, after completing a transfer to Real Sociedad, he has flourished and has already scored 30 goals and made 23 assists in less than 100 games.
And it seems that the Manchester United striker agrees with him after he re-tweeted the article on his official Twitter account.
Manchester United manager David Moyes has already gone into damage control and said to the press, “We need Javier Hernandez; he’s very good for us,”
“He’s scored a lot of goals over the last few years and continues to do so, so we’ll continue to use him.”
In the 2013/14 season, Hernandez has only played four games in the League, three of them from the substitutes’ bench, scoring only one goal.
Vela also said that clubs would be lining up to buy a striker of Chicharito’s calibre, “You always want to succeed at the biggest clubs – but if he is not given the chance there will be big teams in England and Europe wanting him.”
With the January transfer window less than two moths away, Moyes has a job on his hand to keep the Mexican striker happy at Old Trafford.
