Javier Hernandez - David De Gea will be the number one in the world

Despite all the criticism, Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez claims that David de Gea can one day become the world’s best goalkeeper.

Since his move from Atletico Madrid to Old Trafford in 2011, de Gea has been widely criticized and there are rumours suggesting that the goalkeeper may return to Spain at the end of the Season. But thanks to his stunning performance in the Champions League match against Real Madrid, Hernandez believes that de Gea can build up on that to become the best goalkeeper.

Hernandez says “A lot of people who know about football know that David is a top-class goalkeeper, that is why Manchester United bought him. To me, he is a complete goalkeeper. You see the great saves he made on Wednesday. He can also play with his feet, which is very useful to see in a goalkeeper.”

Regarding criticism about the goalkeeper, he said “Other people are speaking about when he has to go out and clear the corners and free-kicks. They say that is the weak part of his game.” He says that the negative comments have not affected the Spaniard as he is confident of his own abilities. He added “David is very focused and doesn’t care about what people say about him. He has a lot of confidence. He doesn’t need to listen to what people say about him. He should just play and enjoys it because he knows he can be number one in the world.”
