Javier Hernandez singled out for praise

Manchester United FC v SC Braga - UEFA Champions League

Sir Alex Ferguson singled Javier Hernandez out for praise after the goal poacher earned Manchester United a victory against Sporting Braga at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday. The home team came from 2–0 down to win the match 3–2 thanks to an amazing brace from the Mexican forward and a goal from Jonny Evans.

In the 25th minute of the encounter with Sporting Braga leading by 2–0, Javier Hernandez converted an accurate cross from forward thinking midfielder Shinji Kagawa to halve the deficit. Multifunctional Northern Ireland defender Jonny Evans then went on to level the score with a close range effort on 63 minutes before the Mexico international met a perfect Tom Cleverley cross to head Manchester United into a 3–2 lead twelve minute later.

Javier Hernandez has now notched up 35 goals in a total of 90 first team outings for Manchester United since he arrived at Old Trafford from Club Deportivo Guadalajara in the summer of 2010. Sir Alex Ferguson: “Javier Hernandez is improving all the time. He is fantastic in training and he is always practising. His goal ratio for us is fantastic. For his second goal he bends around the back of the defender. It is a great ball in from Tom Cleverley but his movement is terrific. He has given me a problem, but that is a good thing.”
