Jermain Defoe arrested during investigation of death threats

Tottenham star, Jermain Defoe, was arrested after death threats were said to have been made to two women after jewels and other items worth £200,000 went missing from his home.

Two of Defoe’s cousin’s were looking after his house in his absence and had invited the girls over. When the 30-year-old returned, he found the jewels and other items missing.

The girls claim to have been threatened. However, they later did a U-turn and denied having been threatened by Defoe or by his cousins.

Defoe was taken into custody for questioning and released without charge.
