Real Madrid starlet Jesé Rodriguez underwent further tests in Germany after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in his right knee during Real Madrid’s round of 16 Champions League match against Schalke at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 18 when he was pushed by defender Sead Kolasinac.
In the latest medical report released by the club, it said: “Real Madrid player Jesé Rodriguez underwent an arthroscopic revision of his right knee, which was carried out by Ulrich Boenisch in the Hessingpark-Clinic in Augsburg. The revision was a success and the player will stay in hospital for a few days under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services.”
Jese went through the surgery on March 20, however, an inflammation was detected in the operated knee, as well as a fever, and the 21-year old had to return back to Germany for further tests under Dr. Ulrich Boenische.
“He will go to Germany to be seen. He has been unlucky,” manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted last week that the player must now return to see Dr. Boenisch, who is said to be renowned for knee surgery experience.
Jese has made 18 appearances for the first team this season, and has five goals and four assists to his team-mates. Doctors are estimating that he will recover completely by September, and will miss the club’s pre-season training.
