Sevilla have confirmed the imminent departure of winger Jesus Navas to Manchester City in a deal set to be worth £17m plus add-ons.
A statement on the Sevilla website confirmed: “Jesus Navas leaves Seville for Manchester City.
“Sevilla accepted an offer from the English club on Monday, taking into account the desire of the player, who will now have to pass a medical.”
Manchester City are looking to add more talent to their squad and the 27-year-old is their first major signing of the summer after they failed to defend their Premier League title as they lost out to rivals Manchester United.
City are also yet to announce a successor to Italian Roberto Mancini. Malaga’s Manuel Pellegrini is heavily-tipped to take over.
Navas made his senior debut in 2003 and has scored 34 goals in his 388 appearances for Sevilla and has 23 national caps to his name.
