Joachim Löw calls-up Westermann as Bender twins and Reus pull out due to injury!

Germany coach Joachim Löw has named defender Heiko Westermann as a replacement after the Bender twins, Lars and Sven, followed by Marco Reus also pulled out of Germany’s final 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ireland (October 11) in Cologne and away to Sweden (October 15) in Stockholm.

The trio join strikers Miroslav Klose (Lazio Roma) and Mario Gomez (AC Fiorentina), besides Ilkay Gündogan (Borussia Dortmund), Lukas Podolski (FC Arsenal) and Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund) on the already long German injury list.

Germany just need one win out of the two matches to ensure their passage to Brazil next year.
