Joe Hart wins third consecutive Golden Gloves award

Southampton v Manchester City - Premier League

Joe Hart helped Manchester City achieve a 17th clean sheet of the season after Tuesday’s 1-0 win over West Brom. Hart was confirmed to finish on top, after Chelsea’s Petr Cech failed to keep a clean sheet due to an Emmanuel Adebayor goal on Wednesday.

Manchester City hold the record of having the toughest defense. The Citizens have conceded only 31 goals this season, averaging a brilliant 0.86 goals per game.

Joe Hart has now equalled Pepe Reina’s record for winning three consecutive awards. However, an array of brilliant defenders’ contributions have been rightly attributed to his achievement.

With only two games remaining, it would be interesting to see if City can break their record of 18 clean sheets that they had achieved in the 2010-11 season with Joe Hart as their goalie.
