It’s my view that Chelsea‘s back four without John Terry is not the same with him in it organising. I have to admit, at times in some games we have done more than okay but John Terry brings more to that position than any other player at the club.Terry brings leadership, he brings organisation and above anything else, he is the voice that keeps players going or gives them a kick up the back if they need it! That’s what Chelsea have missed this season.
You look around the Chelsea team at the players on the pitch when we are up against it and you look for reactions, for someone to organise people, and for someone to grab hold of someone and give them encouragement or a rollicking to get them going again and you just can’t see anyone doing it.
I personally disagree with a Goalkeeper as Captain despite the fact that Cech has been at times, our most experienced player. How on earth can he influence players on the pitch from his own box?
Frank Lampard does a decent job without JT and you can see him talking and trying to organise his players when he’s on the pitch but even Frank would agree that he isn’t anywhere near JT.
I really hope he makes a return to the starting line up tomorrow as it’s the ideal time to do so. Hopefully, he will come through the game and be fit and raring to go in our next three league games against Reading, Newcastle and Wigan and remains fit from now until the end of the season.
Welcome back John Terry. We are never the same without you!
