Chelsea captain John Terry’s father has been charged with a racist attack by the City of London Police.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, 59 yr old Ted Terry was arrested earlier this year after a public scuffle with another man.
He was only charged yesterday, accused of racially aggravated common assault and racially aggravated fear of violence.
The incident reportedly took place on the 22nd of March this year, with two other men, Tudor Musteata and Stephen Niland, also charged with racially aggravated fear of violence, i.e, causing a ‘fear of violence’ which was racially aggravated.
Ted Terry and the other two men have been asked to appear in court on July 23rd.
The Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for the London police as saying, ‘As charges have now been brought we are unable to comment further on the nature of the incident.’
Only last year, John Terry was accused of racism against Anton Ferdinand during a match between Chelsea and Queen’s Park Rangers. Although he was ultimately cleared, he was stripped of England captaincy.
