Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hit out at former protegee Andre Villas Boas for discussing their broken relationship with the media and has labelled the Tottenham manager as a ‘kid’. The Express reports.

The pair will face off today when Chelsea visit White Hart Lane.

The Portuguese duo do not acknowledge each other anymore due to Villas-Boas being upset about not been given bigger responsibilities during Mourinho’s stints as manager of Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

Villas Boas added fuel to the fire when he revealed why he parted ways with Mourinho, which angered the current Chelsea manager who responded saying:

“I’m a not a kid who discusses relationships in the media. It’s a personal thing. I don’t care what he says. I’m not disappointed.

“I’m not like a kid. If I have something to discuss with someone, we have lunch and talk. We don’t discuss it in front of everyone. My parents taught me that if you have a problem at school, you resolve it yourself rather than bringing it home. Things should be resolved between brothers.

“People might be scared of me because of my ugly face – not because of my personality. When people know me, they know they can be straight.

“Ninety per cent of people who speak about me don’t know me. Managers I don’t know I have no credibility to speak about. The ones I know, if I like them, I say positive things. If I have something against them, then I prefer not to say.

“I played a Champions League final in 2010 against a manager, Louis van Gaal, who was very important in my career. We did it in a professional way.

“Do I miss Andre? I miss my wife and kids who I saw this morning.”

The 50-year-old tactician was ticked off by AVB expressing his surprise that playmaker Mata continues to be snubbed by the Blues.

“Andre is surprised that Mata is not playing. He can talk, why not? I’m not surprised that Emmanuel Adebayor is not playing for him. It’s because he has reasons.”

Mourinho angrily stated that he may conjure more controversy by giving Chelsea’s entire Under 21 team a chance to play in the Capital One Cup draw against Arsenal.

Mourinho is displeased that the match against the Gunners falls just two days after a grueling game against Manchester City.

Arsene Wenger’s side have time to rest as their game against Crystal Palace is a day before Chelsea’s match against City.

Mourinho said: “The Under-21 team will have a very good experience. I have to prioritise. The league is more important. If people think this is not an important game, why should I?

“To make Chelsea play on Sunday and Tuesday, it’s because they’re not interested in Chelsea being at maximum strength. If they don’t want it, we don’t.”
