Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a move for German midfield maestros Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira in a double swoop, according to the Daily Star.
Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has been heavily linked with a reunion with Jose Mourinho for a number of months, but despite interest from the former Real Madrid manager, the German international seemed set to stay at Los Blancos.
The German international had surgery on a serious injury earlier this year and looked certain to miss out on the World Cup as well, however, he made the squad and started for the Germans in their mauling of Portugal.
The more surprising move could be for fellow German midfielder Toni Kroos, whose future is still unclear despite months of speculation surrounding his future.
The Manchester United target is out of contract next summer and he has yet to agree a new deal with the Bavarian giants, which has alerted a number of potential suitors to his services.
Kroos played a big part under Pep Guardiola last season in helping his side claim the double, but he has yet to be rewarded with a new deal.
Both players are out of contract next summer.
Sami Khedira won 0/3 tackles he attempted in Germany’s win over Portugal.
