It's either complete rubbish to just sell copy or there is some substance in it. According to the Express, Chelsea have revived their interest in Wayne Rooney this summer and are preparing a £40m bid.Now it's an interesting one for many, many reasons. First the situation with Louis Van Gaal heading to Manchester after the World Cup and his apparent admiration for Robin Van Persie. There had been rumours of a rift at United last season between the two strikers and I just wonder if Van Gaal will deem Rooney as replaceable.Secondly, the reported interest from Mourinho. Now last season despite a few bids being made, David Moyes held firm and stated that Rooney would not be sold. As a result I believe he now has a new contract. It was clear Moyes felt that Rooney could play a pivotal role in his Manchester revolution. Now with Van Gaal, I am not surprised (if it's true) that Jose wants to try his luck again. The reason is because (as I have stated before) Mourinho sees Rooney as the ideal link man up front just as Eidur Gudjohnsen proved to be for the manager back in 2004-2006.We have no one who can drop into the hole and create something from nothing or at least link up with our midfield. OK so we are looking to sign Diego Costa but I can't see that he is that type of player. Rooney is that player and I can understand why Mourinho has kept an eye on him despite having to admit defeat last summer. You only have to look at recent comments being made by Mourinho of Rooney for England and you can see that he is keeping Rooney aware of his interest.I just wonder if there IS actually anything in this report featured here.I will say this, £40m is a lot of money considering we have just paid £30m for Cesc Fabregas, are about to tie up £32m for Diego Costa and look like spending another £21m on Filipe Luis. Add to that the link today with Toni Kroos worth approximately £20m and Chelsea look like spending big this summer. What do you think of the link again to Rooney? Pure fabrication or do you think there could be some substance in this?
