Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that French defender Kurt Zouma is fine now after colliding with goalkeeper Petr Cech during the Blues 3-1 Capital One Cup win over Derby County at the iPro Stadium on Tuesday.
"He's fine. We don't think it's serious. He was dizzy and had some blood in his mouth from a cut," Mourinho said.
The 51-year-old Portuguese, however, expressed his disappointment at the speed at which help arrived on the field.
"The players, their body language, suggested there was some trouble. They were walking. After that, I was informed that this was the direction they have. They can't run." the former Real Madrid boss said.
He further said that the 20-year-old should be fit for their fixture against Stoke City next Monday.
"He's a strong guy. He wants to play, he wants to help," Mourinho added.
Cesc Fabregas received praise from Mourinho for his performance on the night.
"He's a world champion and he wants to come to Derby in a competition like the League Cup and play. This impresses me,” Mourinho said.
We have the squad to win four titles: Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas, who was one of the men assisting the stretcher carriers, said that the incident did have an impact on the game.
"I think it [Zouma's injury] had an effect on the game," the midfielder said.
Fabregas added that Chelsea had the squad to win four trophies this season.
"We have a very strong squad, not just the team. Everyone performs really well and we will need everyone until the end of the season if we want to go for everything."
Mourinho had said that he will not speak about his side winning the quadruple and would instead focus on taking it one game at a time.
