Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out a possible move for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The Portuguese arrived in Bangkok for the pre-season tour and faced the press along with goalkeeper Petr Cech and new Blues signing Andre Schurrle. When asked whether Chelsea were interested for a Wayne Rooney move, Mourinho said: “It’s a tricky question because I cannot speak about players from other teams. But you know me and it’s not my kind of character to speak with a bit of hypocrisy and I always say what I think.”
“He is a player I like very much but I can say no more than that. Being fast and direct, I like that, but he’s a Manchester United player.”
The England international has been a subject of immense speculation since Sir Alex Ferguson announced in May that Rooney wanted to leave the club. However, new manager David Moyes insisted last week that Rooney was not for sale.
