Jose Mourinho is the latest footballing personality to be a victim of attempted burglary, following the likes of Angel di Maria, Leonardo Bonucci, Arturo Vidal, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard to name a few.
A man named Gabor Roman, 25, was caught in the act as he tried to get into Jose Mourinho’s home at Manchester, where he was watching Portugal win the 2016 Euros, as it was reported by the Telegraph.
One of the maids screamed after spotting the burglar and said: “What are you doing here?” The robber tried to escape but failed as one of the security guards caught him. Roman was earlier seen scouting Mourinho’s home by the same guard as he looked for different entry points.

The police arrived in time to arrest the felon, and a passerby said: “I don’t think it had registered with the guy [the burglar] he was trying to burgle the house of the world’s most famous football coach.” He added: “Jose looked dumbfounded.”
The burglar has been handed a sentence of four weeks by Westminster magistrates on Tuesday after he admitted to burgling Jose’s house. A source said: “The prowler was trying not to be obvious but he clearly did not fit in with such an upscale area. The guard saw him trying all the house doors, leaning against them with his shoulder.” He added: “He followed him on the opposite side of the road, using the cars for cover. The first open door the guy found was Jose’s basement gate.”
The Mourinho family were watching the Euro finals in their £25 million home when the burglar was caught by the police. The attempted burglary happened just a few hours Mourinho saw Andy Murray beat Milos Raonic to win his second Wimbledon title.

Jose Mourinho joined the Red Devils after he was sacked by Chelsea in mid-December after a dismal start to the season as he saw his Chelsea team stay just one point above the relegation zone. He was succeeded by Guus Hiddink, who stabilised the sinking ship and guided his team to a 10th placed finish.
It will be interesting to see the Premier League this season because of the fact that coaches like Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp, Arsene Wenger, Mauricio Pochettino and Claudio Ranieri will all be competing for the title this season.
