According to the Daily Star Sunday, Jose Mourinho will not entertain any offers for Brazilian Ramires, amid rumours that Real Madrid are preparing to launch a £25 million bid.
Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly told Los Blancos president Florentino Perez that Ramires is one of his most sought after signings, alongside Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Ancelotti signed the combative midfielder for Chelsea in 2010 during his tenure at Stamford Bridge and is keen to bolster Madrid’s midfield by reuniting with his former charge.
The 27-year-old’s contract runs for a further three years, so The Blues are under no pressure to recoup a fee for Ramires.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are making considerable moves in the transfer market, with Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa expected to make the switch to the Premier League after completing his medical last week.
The Daily Star also understands that former Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas is on the precipice of joining the club on a four-year deal, with a reported salary of around £8.1 million-a-year.
