Barcelona, July 31 Spanish football giants FC Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu is confident that his club has the capability to clinch six major trophies this year.
The Catalan team has already bagged three titles following their Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey success and can make it six if they claim the Club World Cup, Spanish Supercup and the European Supercup. Barcelona last won the sextuple under head coach Pep Guardiola in 2009.
"We won three trophies last season, so there are six cups to win this year. It would be a dream year," Bartomeu was quoted as saying by Goal.com on Friday.
"Hopefully, we can start thinking about winning six trophies each season. You need a competitive team for that, but I think we have it all to do just that with the additions we have made."
The club president then praised Argentine forward Lionel Messi's eagerness to contribute for the side, hailing his decision to return from his holiday four days in advance.
"Messi is raring to go again. He is eager to continue to make history with Barcelona. He is the best player in Barca's history and world football.
"Messi and his teammates have a big challenge ahead of them, but everybody is excited about the chance to win six trophies. I noticed that everybody is talking about it and that is very inspiring," he concluded.
