Juan Cuadrado has completed his transfer from Fiorentina to Chelsea. The winger has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the English side. Fiorentina and Chelsea agreed a fee reported to be in the region of £27 million.
The Cuadrado deal was expected to be completed soon after he was seen at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
He bid Fiorentina fans goodbye a couple of days ago for all the support. He has expressed his happiness at joining the league leaders and labelled joining Chelsea as a dream.
He said, “ I am very happy and thankful for this opportunity I’ve been given. This is a great club and honestly it is like a dream to join the Chelsea family and to know that the manager believes in me. I’m happy.”
The Colombian winger spent five-and-a-half years in Italy – first with Udinese and then with Fiorentina. He has scored 5 goals in 37 appearances for his national side. The 26-year-old leaves Fiorentina having scored 6 goals in 22 appearances for them in all competitions this season.
