With the transfer season in full swing and Juan Mata’s future being discussed weekly in the newspapers, Mata, for the first time has spoken about it.
Chelsea’s Player of the Year has been back from holiday for about week after an extended break due to the Confederations Cup. He is starting to make his way back to full fitness and getting game time in the International Champions Cup. Like many of the current Chelsea squad, this is Mata’s first time working with Jose Mourinho and here are his thoughts on the boss:
“Each manager has his own kind of work, but in terms of intensity the training has been high and I think it’s really good to get the intensity into our game.
“We’re really looking forward to starting the season with him and we are all excited about it. Jose did a really great job here a few years ago and I think that we can do it again.” he added.
“It’s very good, everyone wants to feel important for the club, I feel it, I’m very happy and enjoying training with the new manager, and I hope I can improve on the last two seasons.” he concluded.
He is happy at the club and is looking to improve on two fantastic seasons he has had at the club, winning back to back Player of the Year awards.
He is looking forward to the start of the season and so am I. Do you think he will start the first game of the season in little under two weeks time? Let us know!
