Juan Mata: "World class players will arrive at Manchester United"

Juan Mata is still convinced that the world’s best players will still want to play for Manchester United, despite their current predicament.

United have had a torrid season this year, managing just two victories since the turn of the year and sitting in seventh place in the table, having also crashed out of both domestic cups.

The Red Devils are targeting a mass overhaul of their squad in the summer and, despite things not going their way on the pitch, Mata believes that top players will still be interested in moving to Old Trafford and helping to restore the club to it’s former glories.

The Spaniard said, “I don’t know what will happen in the summer, but the manager said the other day at a press conference that he’s going to be signing players.

“I think this club is at a state of change, but I can tell you the best players in the world will always arrive.”

Mata also claimed that the side have not abandoned their objective of qualifying for the Champions League next season, despite an 11 point gap having been opened up between them and fourth placed Liverpool.

“The objective is to get to the Champions League spots. It’s difficult because Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton are all playing well and fighting for the top four, but I think we have a team who can do it.”
