Mexican Liga MX returns with a fresh set of fixtures as Juarez and Pumas UNAM lock horns at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez on Wednesday. Both sides have had a contrasting start to the new season, with the hosts failing to win their opening two matches.
Juarez were denied their first win of the Apertura campaign as they fell to a 3-2 loss against Toluca at the Estadio Nemesio Díez last time out.
This came after a 2-2 draw with Atlas in the season opener on July 7, when they bottled their lead twice before settling for a point.
Juarez will look to find their feet as they aim for a place in the playoffs, having missed out on the same in both Apertura and Clausura last season.
Pumas UNAM, on the other hand, played out a 1-1 draw with Santos Laguna last time out, with Santiago Muñoz and César Huerta scoring for either side.
Prior to that, Gustavo Lema’s men kicked off the season on a high as they cruised to a 4-1 victory over Club Leon at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario.
Pumas are unbeaten in their last three matches across all competitions, claiming two draws and a win since their 2-0 loss against Cruz Azul on May 10.
