Jurgen Klopp has now entered the ring where Loris Karius was taking on Sky Sports’ pundits, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. The Liverpool manager didn’t hold back when asked about the ongoing feud between the three of them referring to Gary Neville as ‘the one who was a manager’.
Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville both aimed a lot of criticism against the Liverpool keeper for his role in Jurgen Klopp’s side’s 4-3 implosion against AFC Bournemouth. With his side 3-1 up, Karius was partly to blame for the Cherries’ fight back when they eventually won the fixture scoring three goals late in the second half.
But Klopp says Gary Neville should know better than to criticise the young keeper given he was a manager at one point of time. He said: "My job is to protect the players as much as we can, but I can’t do that when they’re on the pitch.
"I’m not surprised about it. In my first press conference I spoke about English media, and the pundits, the former players, forgot completely how it felt when they get criticised. Especially the Neville brothers, the one who was a manager, he should know. He’s not interested in helping a Liverpool player.
"I don’t listen to them. Carra doesn’t speak too much about United players, and the Neville brothers don’t care much about Liverpool. Tell him I’m not on Twitter. If he wants me, Twitter doesn’t help," the German added.

Karius’ situation at Liverpool wasn’t exactly strengthened against West Ham this past weekend as well as he failed to keep his side in the game which eventually ended with both the team sharing the points.
But he didn’t stay quiet and hit out at Gary Neville, too, calling him an ‘expert’ after failing to be a successful manager. "I don’t care what Gary Neville said,” he said. “He was a manager for a short bit and now he is back to being an expert again.
"But he is always very critical. I think he does it to everyone. I just hope that when I do well he will comment on that. We will see in the future,” he went on to add.
This war between the two parties isn’t helping anyone. Another former Liverpool star in Didi Hamann is also unhappy with the way Karius is being treated as he lashed out at his former teammate, Jamie Carragher, too.

"That's the most laughable thing I've read in a long time. Disrespectful to say the least,” he said of Neville’s comments before adding, "Carra is out of order too. Karius is 23 years old and played over 100 top flight games. Outrageous comments, deserves a little more respect.
"You can criticise as much as you want but you don't tell an adult to shut up. Poor form," the ex-Liverpool player concluded.
