Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed questions over Liverpool’s US tour after they ended it with a loss to AS Roma. Klopp has time and again stressed that pre-season results should not be given utmost importance. Furthermore, he cleared the air on fears of Alberto Moreno injury since he was himself substituted after coming on as one.
Moreno was introduced in the second half against AS Roma but picked up a knock late on. Although, Klopp later confirmed that it’s only a dead leg and not a hamstring as feared. He was quoted by Liverpool’s official website as saying, "Yes, [he is OK] - dead leg in the hamstring. He couldn't activate the muscle so you cannot play. That's how it is."

On their pre-season US tour, Liverpool lost to Chelsea and AS Roma with a win against AC Milan sandwiched in between. After having analysed his side’s loss in the final game at Busch Stadium, Klopp lamented Liverpool’s shapeless defence as he feels they invited Roma to attack, however, he also complemented the chances created by his forwards.
Klopp added, "It was obviously not our best game, but games like this can happen," the Reds boss told the club's official website. "We weren't compact in the first half and had too big spaces between the positions, so nearly every offensive action of Roma was a chance. It makes no sense. On the other hand, we had a lot of good chances too so it could have been 6-5 to either side at half-time. That may be exciting but is of course not what I want. Sometimes as a manager you have to accept things and tonight I can accept it because I know why.”

The Liverpool boss sounded pragmatic as he defended their US tour and summed up their pre-season as a good foundation on which they can build a successful Premier League campaign which kicks off with a big game against Arsenal at The Emirates.
He continued, "13 days in the USA and the hardest circumstances tonight at the end, after a lot of intensive sessions and then this wet heat. It was not too easy. We had a lot of games in the last few weeks and the opponent had no games in the last two weeks. We knew all that before the game, so it's hard. We did really well in this pre-season camp – we had a lot of perfect sessions and really good moments in our games. Now we have finished, hopefully a safe trip, go home to England and build on the base we made here.”
