What's the story?
Transfer season may finally be behind us but that does not mean transfer rumours are - they just seem determined to follow us around like a particularly affectionate pet dog. And we are but here to serve you, so fresh from the oven is this bit of tasty news from the hard-to-keep-down folk at the Sun.
According to them, Serie A goliaths Juventus are aiming to strengthen their squad in January - as if this whole summer was not enough for one of the most astute players in the market - and will be aiming to buy a sharp, nifty, pacy, runs between the lines kind of forward and have zeroed in on Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma - Chelsea's current no.11
In case you didn't know
A graduate of the famed La Masia academy he earned his place in the Barcelona first team through some fantastic displays in the junior levels. He played 9 years for the senior team, making 321 appearances and scoring 99 goals for the Catalan giants.
He then decided to make a move to London in 2015 - after rejecting a move to Manchester United in the last minute - and has become an integral part of the modern Chelsea behemoth that has won 2 Premier Leagues in the last 3 years.
The heart of the matter
The reports - which really ought to be taken with a pinch of salt truth be told - claim that Massimiliano Allegri is looking for an attacking midfielder/ forward to play in behind the Argentine duo of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain - after understanding that Miralem Pjanic is better suited to a deep-lying position. Hence the decision to go for Pedro... even though the Spaniard will be cup-tied for the Champions League.
Like I said, a pinch of salt.

Here's Pedro doing what he's best at:
There's no doubt he'd add to the quality of an already superb Bianconeri squad
Author's Take
The 30-year-old could possibly come cheap, thanks to his age and Juventus's propensity to seal entirely remarkable deals even in today's crazy transfer market (Who the blue hell gets Blaise Matuidi for just £15 million? - a million less than Harry Maguire, if you need the comparison to understand just how great that deal is) but it is highly unlikely - bordering on the nonsensically impossible that Chelsea would let of one of their best "big-game" players go in January.
