Alessio Tacchinardi – Juventus
Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has put his weight behind his former side to claim the silverware tonight – one that has evaded the Old Lady since 1995/96. Not only that, the 41-year-old, who spent 11 years in Turin and won 6 league titles has backed Gonzalo Higuain of stealing the show tonight.
Speaking in an interview with AS, the Italian also warned his side to not understimate the strength of the reigning Champions.
“I'm betting on Higuain. I see all the desire that he and Juventus have to take the throne from the champions of Europe. They have reached the final in great shape. It's a game between two super sides that deserve praise, no matter what.
“I hope Juve win, but honestly both sides deserve to take the title. It will be an even match. In Italy there is great excitement about Juve, but I hope the Bianconeri will not underestimate the strength of this Madrid." ~ Alessio Tacchinardi
Andriy Shevchenko – Juventus
Legendary Ukranian striker Andriy Shevchenko who won the UEFA Champions League in 2003 with AC Milan wants the Old Lady to come out victorious for none other than Gianluigi Buffon.
“I will be cheering for both teams but in my heart I would like to see such a great player as Buffon winning the Champions League. Overall, my sympathies will be with Juventus.” ~ Andriy Shevchenko
