Kenya and Comoros go head-to-head at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in Ibhayi in Group B action of the 2024 COSAFA Cup on Sunday (June 30). Both sides head into the weekend off the back of contrasting opening-day results, with Stefano Cusin’s men narrowly losing to Zimbabwe.
Kenya’s quest for a first COSAFA Cup title got off on the right foot, as they picked up a 2-0 victory over 10-man Zambia in their Group B opener on Thursday.
In a one-sided affair at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Austin Odhiambo and Patrick Otieno scored first-half goals to deny Zambia an opening-day victory.
Kenya are unbeaten in four competitive games, claiming two wins, since a 2-1 loss to Gabon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
Comoros, meanwhile, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Zimbabwe in their group curtain-raiser on Thursday. Following a relatively uneventful first half in Port Elizabeth, Michael Tapera struck in the 53rd minute to hand Zimbabwe all three points.
However, Cusin’s men will back themselves to find their feet this weekend as they take on an opposing side who are winless in four meetings since 2014.
