Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has revealed the depth to which John Terry can help out a friend. The maverick batsman is a well-known Chelsea fan, and made a post on Instagram outlining how John Terry gave his son a wonderful Chelsea memory.
John Terry was ruled out of Chelsea’s disappointing loss to Paris St. Germain, as the Blues were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by the French champions for the second year in a row. However, that did not preclude Terry from giving Pietersen’s son, Dylan, a memory to remember as the youngster and his cousin met the Chelsea players after the game, and even had a kickabout on the Stamford Bridge pitch
Here is Pietersen's post on Instagram, which says :
Thank you, @johnterry.26 for giving Dylan & his cousin one of the best afternoons ever! They met all the@chelseafc players after the game to get their football cards signed(the players were outstandingly good with the kids too), then played their own little game on the main field! Sportsmen/women can certainly make kids incredibly happy & I have a very happy little boy! He'll be a,@chelseafc for life now! Thanks, buddy! #ChelseaFC
Pietersen’s appreciation is a sea change from months ago
Kevin Pietersen is known for his association with the London club, as the former England batsman noted in an interview in 2014, saying “Chelsea is my team. I am good friends with many players in Chelsea, including Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and John Terry. I live in Chelsea and train there too.”
However, Pietersen’s friendly nature towards the Chelsea team went missing after the sacking of Jose Mourinho, as the explosive batsman tweeted about his displeasure with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa:
Pietersen, who just ended a spell with the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, is apparently back in love with members of the Chelsea squad. All it took was a kind gesture from the captain of Chelsea, and some from the dressing room members as well. Not bad for a team who had just suffered a heartbreaking loss to PSG.
