Kosovo and Lithuania go head-to-head at the Pristina City Stadium in the final game in Group C2 of the 2024 UEFA Nations League on Monday. Edgaras Jankauskas’ men head into the group finale as one of just four sides yet to pick up any points and will be desperate to close the campaign on a high.
Kosovo’s clash against Romania on Friday was abandoned in stoppage time after an on-field bust-up and offensive chant at the National Arena caused the Tricolours to storm off the pitch.
Before that, Franco Foda’s men kicked off their Nations League journey with a 3-0 loss against Romania in September's reverse fixture before picking up three wins from their subsequent three outings in Group C2.
Kosovo have picked up nine points so far to sit second in the group standings, three points above third-placed Cyprus, who have a -13 goal difference.
Lithuania, on the other hand, were left empty-handed yet again as they fell to a 2-1 loss against Cyprus at the AEK Arena on Friday. Jankauskas’ men have now lost all five games in Group C2 to sit rock-bottom in the standings heading into Monday’s final group game.
Lithuania’s underwhelming campaign has been due to their struggles in defense, where they have conceded 10 goals so far while scoring four at the opposite end of the pitch.
